Research

Tianqing Zhang is a LINCC Frameworks research scientist and research faculty at the University of Pittsburgh. Before joining Pitt, he completed his graduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on weak gravitational lensing analysis and its sources of systematics, including the point spread function (PSF) and photometric redshift. Tianqing is involved in the LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration, currently serving as Deputy Technical Coordinator and co-lead of the RAIL topical team, and is an active member of the Pixels-to-objects, Photometric Redshift, and Rubin commissioning teams. He is passionate about working towards sub-percent precision for weak lensing cosmology. Tianqing is also involved in the cosmological analysis of the Subaru Hyper-Suprime Cam.
