1. Whom do you most admire?
My partner -- she's the most capable and talented person I know and works incredibly hard to support our family
2. What is your idea of happiness?
Freedom from time pressure to relax, spend time with family, and read
3. What do you enjoy doing most?
Learning something new (physics or otherwise)
4. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Baseball being blacked out
5. What talent would you like to have?
The ability to speak more than one language
6. What do you most value in a colleague?
A diverse viewpoint and the patience/willingness to tell me when I'm full of it

Theories are nothing more than words. Accept what you have seen!

I was once an offensive lineman on my high school football team

An aspiring (but unsuccessful) morning person
10. If you were stuck on a desert island, what three things would you need to have with you?
A solar-powered RV, a large supply of food, and a pre-loaded kindle.
Sam Homiller is a particle theorist, working on a variety of topics related to the Higgs boson, the flavor structure of the Standard Model, and the nature of CP violation in our universe. He did his Ph.D. at Stony Brook University, graduating in 2020, before moving on to postdocs at Harvard and Cornell. Among his interests in a broad range of particle physics experiments, he is particularly involved in physics at the Large Hadron Collider and in developing the physics case for various future colliders.
