The Department of Physics and Astronomy congratulates Distinguished Professor of High-Energy Physics, Tao Han, on receiving the Humboldt Research Award!
In late June 2025, Professor Han attended the Annual Meeting of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Berlin, Germany. He was recognized for his accomplishments during the 2024 Humboldt Award Ceremony.
“I was deeply honored for this prestigious award,” said Professor Han, “and for the opportunity to have met the Federal President of Germany, Franz-Walter Steinmeier, in Bellevue Palace — the President residence in Berlin.” There were 28 awardees in 2024, across the fields and the continents.
The Humboldt Research Award is conferred to internationally recognized researchers in recognition of their entire academic record to date. The award winners are invited to carry out research projects of their own choice in cooperation with specialist colleagues in Germany. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation sponsors distinguished international scientists and scholars irrespectively of their academic discipline or nationality and maintains an international network of academic cooperation and trust.
