New Copiers in 100 Allen Hall (Instructions)


We are now using the new Canon multifunction device (MFD) with uniFLOW Online to handle our printing/copying/scanning needs. uniFLOW Online, provides us with secure print release—items in your print queue will only be released to print when you badge-in or use your pin at the machine. uniFLOW online is our new cloud-based software that will make printing and scanning easier and more secure. It has many benefits, such as:
 

Streamlined Printing Workflows: uniFLOW Online will simplify printing tasks and improve overall document management processes.
Enhanced Security: The new system will enhance the security of our printing and scanning activities, ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Cost Savings: uniFLOW Online promotes cost savings by enabling better control and management of printing resources.
Eco-Friendly Practices: The system supports eco-friendly printing practices, such as double-sided printing and print avoidance, to reduce paper and energy waste.


How to Use
When you use our Canon MFD for printing, scanning, or copying, you will badge-in first or use your PIN. This will give you access to your own print queue and scan options.
 
To get started, please be sure to:

Install uniFLOW Smart Client from the Software Center or go to pitt.us.uniflowonline.com

You will need to restart the computer
Once you log back in click the uniFLOW icon at the bottom of your screen (taskbar) 
 
Use your Pitt SSO login
Log into Pitt passport as normal

Locate your PIN (needed to register your Pitt ID)

In "Identities" find PIN
Click the "..." and "Show PIN Code"
Make note of your PIN

 

Register your Pitt ID at the printer

Tap your Pitt ID on the copier's card reader
When prompted, enter your PIN
Tap your Pitt ID again
You are ready to print, scan and copy.

 

Complete a ‘secure print driver’ installation

For PC: Open "Software Center", click "uniFlow", click "Install", reboot.
For Mac: Open "Self Service", click "uniFlow", click "Install", reboot.

If any of those fail, put in a Help Desk ticket.


Once these steps are complete, you are good to go!
 
You will no longer be able to use a USB to print. 
However, you can install the uniFLOW app on your phone or tablet to print directly from these mobile devices, in addition to your laptop or desktop.
