Aiming for Precision, the Atomic Way

Precision measurement using atoms have been the holy grail of Atomic Physics leading to many discoveries, be it in fundamental or applied Physics. After giving a brief motivation about precision spectroscopy, I will be discussion my experience with it during my career presenting a few representative experiments. I will be presenting a method we developed using a FPGA based Redpitaya board to frequency lock a diode laser to the Cesium D2 transition with ~100 kHz accuracy. I will then discuss about a technique we developed to perform Absolute Atomic Frequency Measurements in using a ring cavity resonator with a ppb precision. I will then discuss about tools and methods we developed for noise measurement in an optical amplifier and 8 times frequency shifting using a single AOM to be used for Atom interferometry used for Weak Equivalence Principle test using Rubidium atoms
