Anthony Duncan receives The Abraham Pais Prize for History of Physics

Congratulations to Dr. Anthony Duncan for being selected as the 2026 recipient of The Abraham Pais Prize for History of Physics! The award recognizes outstanding scholarly achievements in the history of physics.

The prize is given annually and consists of $10,000 and a certificate citing the contributions of the recipient, plus an allowance for travel to an APS meeting to receive the award and deliver an invited lecture on the history of physics., 

Dr. Duncan's research was on the history of quantum physics between 1900 and 1927 which culminated in Constructing Quantum Mechanics. His research was declared "an exemplary work that uses primary sources masterfully and employs scaffold and arch metaphors to describe developments in the quantum revolution".
